Lift Up Your Head

Lift Up Your Head

7-27-25

Psalms 3:3

But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

In our natural lives we go to work in order to earn money to live, and always it seems with the thought just a few more years and I will be able to retire, but do you realize that as a Christian there is no retirement until He calls us home.

We are living in a fast paced world today. There is still 24 hours in a day, but how often have you heard where did time go. Up early late to bed, Oh sorry Lord I had no time today to spend with you, but tomorrow will be another day, so we say each night and everyday

The slip, sliding away from the Lord becomes easier, then before we know it we are stuck in the mire clay and then we wonder why I feel downcast in my soul?

We are in spiritual warfare and it is only going to increase as the midnight hour draws closer. Satan is out to destroy and often time we get blindsided by our peers or even by those that we thought loved us, and now we are in an emotional crisis.

Mathew 11:28-30

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Many times we think that we are the only ones that feels despair and no hope for the way out of the situation that we find ourselves in.

Pg. 2

Often we try as to climb out of our despair on our own strength only to lose our grip and fall back into that deep dark hole of despair thinking there is no hope and often times going deeper into that hole!

Despair is a lack of hope, yet the challenge we often face is making the choice to “Cast all of our cares upon the Lord”. {1 Peter 5:7}

Friends though the hour seems dark and the battle rages in our mind, We have a friend that is closer than a brother and we never have to be lonely again.

Only Jesus can satisfy the soul!

Only Jesus can give the peace that is desperately needed in the time of Despair!

Take that step of Faith this day and give all your troubles to Jesus!

Remember Jesus is not only your friend.  He is the King of Kings and our salvation!

For the Scripture reads, Whosoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed! Romans 10:11

Luke 1:37

For withGodnothing shall be impossible.

The battles that King David and his mean faced were not only physical but spiritual also.

David did not become king of Israel immediately. He faced great opposition, and it was  so intense, that he had to flee the country that he had been anointed by God to be the king.

In spite of the many errors that David committed, he knew what God had called him to, and he persevered and kept pressing forward.

In 1 Chronicles 12 we read that David kept himself close, which means he surrounded himself with men that were loyal to him. They were mighty men of valor, that had separated themselves from King Saul, who once knew God.

PG 3

These men that had separated themselves, were men well trained in the art of warfare. In spite of the many hardships that they faced, they recognized the anointing that David had, and chose to go wherever David went. They also experienced great distress at various times.

David cried out to God.

Psalms120:1

In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me.

David is one of the many examples of a man that was anointed by God and records the various emotional crisis that he experienced

 Psalms 351 Plead my cause, O Lord, with those who strive with me;

Fight against those who fight against me.

Beginning in 2 Samuel 23:11 we can read about some of the mighty men of valor that was with David.

The Tachmonite who was  chief among the captains was called Adino,

he had killed eight hundred men at one time.  Think about that for a moment.  When Adino got up that morning, he knew that he was going into a battle, where the enemy was going to do their best to kill him. .However, he had to take up his weapon, which in this instance was a spear.

Though the scripture does not mention any wounds that he may have received in that battle, logic would say he had some.

In spite of being wounded, he pressed forward. It was the anointing of the Lord that came upon him to be able to persevere throughout the day.

Then there was a man named Shammah,

David’s body guard.

He was an owner of a piece of ground that he grew pea’s on.

One day when harvest was about to begin, the enemy came rushing in to steal what he had labored for.

Pg 4

He said enough is enough, today I am taking a stand against the enemy.

God gave him a great victory.

What then shall we say to these things?

Lift up your head this day and take a stand against the enemy

Let this sink in

Romans 8:31

If God is for us, who can be against us?

Learn the lesson that David and other men of past times have learned

Psalms 56:3-4

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?

Lift Up Your Head!

Keep pressing forward! God is not done with you yet!

Luke 1:37

For withGodnothing shall be impossible.

How We Live

As we observe the craziness going on, we are reminded by the scripture found in 2 Timothy 3 that indeed we are living in the last of the last days.

How we live depends on what we believe!

Romans 8:9

But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

The most important thing to know is where you are going to spend eternity and having the blessed assurance that as we live accordingly to God’s Prescribed Order, we indeed will spend eternity in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

JOHN 17:3

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

There is only one true God. There is only one way to Heaven and that is through the Blood of Jesus that He shed on Calvary’s tree by dying and rising again on the 3rd day. God’s amazing Love how can it be, we that have accepted Jesus as our savior, know this amazing Love, and know that we have the assurance that are His child.

As we study the Bible and rightly understand it we will gain Spiritual Knowledge.

PHILLIPIANS 3:10

10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,
