1 Corinthians 12:27-31 (ESV) 27 Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. 28 And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues. 31 But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way. Recently I attended a service that had a guest speaker recounting interviews that he had with Christians that lived in the Azusa Street Revival era. This Author recounted the testimonies that he had heard as a young man. Of miracles that had been witness by these Christians, the dead raised to life, limbs being restored, lives that were changed by the sound teaching of the Word of God. As I heard of the miracles that had taken place during that time period I remembered the miracles that occurred under the ministry of Oral Roberts, my brother Ron received healing of rheumatic fever during this time period. Faith indeed comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God. However at the close of the service during the question and answer period, red flags of warning arose within me when this man began to speak error. This author then proceeded to tell of an experience that happen to him when he was invited to visited the grave of Aimee Semple McPherson. He was instructed to lay upon her grave and to receive the anointing that Sister McPherson had while she was alive. This error teaching is called ‘Grave Sucking’. He recalled that he didn’t feel comfortable in doing that, yet he proceeded in spite of what I believe was a warning from the Holy Spirit not to do this. A quote from Joseph Mattera “ Many charismatics want shortcuts to the anointing” There are no shortcuts to the Anointing of the Holy Spirit. Through prayer asking God to anoint as we speak and rightly divide the word of truth, is the only way to this anointing. What this author felt was not the anointing of the Holy Spirit but a deceiving spirit sent from the pits of hell. Deception in the modern church is rampant ! Matthew 7:15-16 (KJV) 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 2 Timothy 4:3-5 (ESV) 3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. I encourage each one to read and study to the Word of God, so that you may discern when false teachers come among you. If you are not receiving sound teaching based upon the Word of God, and the ‘Oil in your Lamp’ is starting to run low, then take action this very day to make sure of your salvation. 2 Cor 13:5 examine yourselves, whether you be in the faith. All error teaching is a myth, 5% error mixed with 95% truth is still error ! Are you Aware of the Time ? Paul

1. Jesus told his apostles in the Gospel of John that The Holy Spirit is The Spirit Of Truth.
